Tasarla Yap! Studio set out this time with the aim of “mending its own seams” by designing a solution for FADA LAB, the space where the studio stores its materials and produces models and prototypes. Although FADA LAB is a sufficiently large workshop, over the years it had lost its functionality due to the accumulation of wooden materials, hardware supplies, and various equipment. The do-LAB project aims to spatially reorganize the workshop by creating the necessary structure through shelves, platforms, and boxes.

The storage unit has two main functions: First, to provide storage spaces for wooden profiles—ranging between 3 to 4 meters in length—that accumulate each year through various projects. Second, to offer a system of shelves and boxes that ensures tools and materials can be accessed in an organized and efficient way. The dimensions of the materials to be stored played a defining role in the design. The structure was placed in front of a bare concrete wall; the hardware section was separated from the wood profiles and elevated from the ground, which not only created additional storage space underneath but also improved access to the higher shelves.

Tasarla Yap! Stüdyosu, bu kez “kendi söküğünü dikmek” amacıyla yola çıkarak, stüdyonun malzemelerinin depolandığı ve maket ile prototip üretimi için kullanılan FADA LAB için bir tasarım gerçekleştirmiştir. FADA LAB, yeterli büyüklükte bir atölye olmasına rağmen, yıllar içinde biriken ahşap malzemeler, hırdavat ve çeşitli ekipmanların yığılmasıyla işlevselliğini yitirmiştir. do-LAB projesi, atölyeyi mekânsal olarak yeniden düzenlemek amacıyla; raflar, platformlar ve kutular aracılığıyla gerekli depolama strüktürünü kurgulamayı hedeflemektedir.

Depolama ünitesinin iki temel işlevi bulunmaktadır. Birincisi, her yıl projelerle birlikte artan ve boyları 3-4 metre arasında değişen ahşap profiller için saklama alanları oluşturmak, ikincisi ekipman ve malzemelerin düzenli ve kolay erişilebilir şekilde yerleştirilebileceği raf ve kutu sistemleri sunmak. Saklanacak malzemelerin boyutları tasarımın belirleyici unsuru olmuştur. Tasarım, brüt beton duvarın önüne yerleştirilmiş; hırdavat bölümü ise ahşap profillerden ayrılarak zeminden yükseltilmiş bir platform üzerinde konumlandırılmıştır. Bu sayede hem alt kısımda ek depolama alanı yaratılmış hem de yüksek raflara erişim kolaylaştırılmıştır.
