Digital Game Design (Undergraduate)

The Digital Game Design Department at MEF University stands as a distinctive program within Turkey, offering a Bachelor’s degree that integrates creativity, technology, and interdisciplinary learning. As a part of the Faculty of Art, Design, and Architecture (FADA), the program creates a unique educational experience through connecting the worlds of digital game design with art, design, and architecture.
Our curriculum aims to enable students to take courses covering all areas of the game design process, from game design theory and storytelling to game art and programming. Students are also encouraged to specialize in the area of their choice with close guidance from experienced faculty members and a wide range of elective courses. With this approach, students graduate as well-rounded individuals, who have already shipped their first game, have a strong portfolio, and are ready to bring their passion to life.
What truly sets the Digital Game Design Department apart from others is its close integration with FADA. As part of a faculty that fosters collaboration across the disciplines of art, design, and architecture, our students immerse themselves in an open, creative, and interdisciplinary environment. FADA's open studio culture promotes cross-pollination of ideas, providing students with opportunities to collaborate with peers from other design fields, enriching their creative process. Studio courses, which begin in the first semester, are a cornerstone of the curriculum, allowing students to develop both their technical skills and their teamwork and problem-solving abilities in real-world, collaborative settings.
As the game industry continues to expand globally, our students have a chance to be part of close collaborations with industry professionals and independent studios. These connections provide opportunities to gain professional experience while still in school. Additionally, students can choose to be a part of the Erasmus Exchange program, where they can study at partner institutions or do their internships abroad, which allows them to broaden their horizons, gain international experience, and expand their professional network.
